Equine Massage Evaluations : Equine Massage Horse Temperament

Something else that you need to keep in mind
when you’re working with your horse is your horse’s temperament and disposition. If you
have a fairly relaxed guy like Ice-Man, you can take longer to work on different areas
as long as they’ll tolerate and they will let you know when they want you to move on
and when they’re all done with it. If you have again, a young horse with a short attention
span they’re going to be looking around more, they’re going to just not want to stand there
for as long as you might like them to. If you have a sort of a flighty, anxious horse
like many Thoroughbreds can be, you’re going to need to just do everything really slowly,
really carefully with them, make sure that you keep one hand on them all the time as
you’re moving from area to area. Just again, it all boils down to knowing your horse. If
you have a bigger horse, a work horse like a Belgian or something that you’re wanting
to work on, again, they’re going to be pretty laid back in how you approach it and they’re
probably going to be happy to have you work on them anytime.
