Hi everybody. Sean Woodland and Tommy Marquez, breaking down Event 2 for the Individuals at the 2018 Reebok CrossFit Games. This one is known as “Linda.” 10 down to 1 by ones of: deadlifts, bench press and squat cleans. The weights will be fixed for both the men and the women. This is the first time that we have seen bench press in a competition. How much you bench, Sean? [laughs] Not enough. This workout is affectionately known as the “three bars of death,” but really only one bar matters and that’s the bench press. The squat clean and the deadlift loading is reasonable for these level of athletes, but doing this level of bench under intensity, under fatigue, when it’s not just a strength session before your metcon is really going to be the key here.
